Elephant in the bloom

Welcome, I’m Kelly,
counsellor, mother, and lover of quiet spaces and changing seasons.
I created Elephant in the Bloom as a place for people who are standing in the middle of change — the space between what was and what’s next.
Whether you’re navigating separation, motherhood, loss, burnout, or a slow rediscovery of who you are, you’re welcome here.
Why I Do This Work
Like many people, I’ve lived through seasons of my own unravelling and renewal.
Times when life felt uncertain, when the ground shifted beneath me.
It was in those moments that I learned the quiet power of therapy — not as a fix, but as a way to come home to myself.
That experience shapes everything about how I work.
I don’t see therapy as a straight line.
I see it as something cyclical — like nature itself — full of pauses, growth, release, and rest.
How I Work
I offer counselling that is gentle, relational, and reflective.
We move at a pace that feels manageable for you, guided by curiosity rather than pressure.
My role is to walk alongside you — helping you notice what’s shifting, what needs care, and what’s quietly asking to be heard.
My approach integrates:
-
Humanistic and person-centred therapy — grounded in warmth and compassion
-
Creative and reflective tools — using imagery, metaphor, or nature as gentle ways to explore emotion
-
A seasonal philosophy — understanding that every stage of life has its own rhythm and reason
Whether we meet online or in-person in Exmouth, you can expect a calm, unhurried space that supports you through whatever transition you’re facing.
What Matters to Me
I believe:
-
you deserve to take up space, even when you feel lost
-
change doesn’t have to be rushed
-
healing happens in small, real moments
-
tenderness is a kind of strength
The name Elephant in the Bloom came from that belief — that even the heaviest parts of us can soften and grow in time.
A Little About Me
Outside of therapy, you’ll usually find me walking through the woods, tending to flowers, or reading something with a cup of tea in hand.
I’m most at peace in small, slow moments — the same way I hope you’ll begin to feel as we work together.
Next Step
If you’re curious about what it might feel like to talk, you’re welcome to start with a free 15-minute chat.
We’ll see if the rhythm of my approach feels right for you, and you can ask anything you need to know.
You don’t have to rush into change — just begin, gently.
